True Colors

A Collaborative Art Installation

In support of developing well-rounded, engaged citizens, and life-long learners, the six Eanes ISD elementary art teachers proposed a collaborative outdoor art installation that cultivated the concepts of diversity and acceptance across our community. This impactful community experience was grounded in art TEKS, Social Emotional Learning goals, and the Eanes Graduate Profile characteristics. We requested the use of our Central Administration Building lawn for housing this outdoor installation, which consisted of six campus-created monotoned pieces. All students from each campus worked with an assigned color to complete their final piece. The six colors included red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet, and were connected with key concepts in visual arts, diversity, and multiculturalism.
